Life After Death — of a Practice explores the gradual disappearance of thermal mechanics and the hands-on knowledge connected to it. The thesis looks at how digital diagnostics, automation and electric vehicles are changing the relationship between mechanics and machines, replacing physical gestures with screens and data.
As part of the research, I designed and 3D-printed a Cover Box in PLA. Its surface reveals selected hidden faces of a vehicle, making visible parts that are normally concealed. The object acts as a small archive of mechanical knowledge and the traces of a disappearing practice.
