Intersection is an interactive installation that stages forms of algorithmic exclusion through the familiar aesthetic of an urban crossroads. Three modules, inspired by traffic lights, regulate visitors' passage according to automated criteria related to their body, name, or gender.
By placing the audience in direct confrontation with these systems of classification, the installation makes visible forms of discrimination that are often embedded within everyday technologies yet remain largely invisible. Intersection questions the supposed neutrality of algorithms and the authority we grant them to organize social movement—to decide who is allowed to move forward, and who is left waiting.
